What is the Asset registry and how does it work?

The Asset Registry is the final source of truth when it comes to Carbon Shares. It creates the groundwork for transparency upon which we want to build our product by making all of the data that is associated with a specific Share such as ownership, transactions, and KPIs publicly accessible.

The Asset Registry will enable everyone to see exactly how much CO2e has been removed from the atmosphere by a specific user at any point in time. Every single change that is made, starting from a transaction to an adjustment of the amount of CO2e stored per Share will be visible on the Asset Registry.

Furthermore, we are aiming to make the Asset Registry a distributed ledger based database to further increase transparency and ensure that even we can't change any of the data that is stored on it.
